I was thrilled to encounter a Takarazuka Revue star on the street, and at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, I was moved by both the heartfelt words of fellow manga artists in archival videos and Tezuka-sensei’s personal belongings on display.

Takarazuka City & Revue Stars
阪急宝塚駅に降り立つと、街全体が
「宝塚歌劇団」の雰囲気に包まれています。
駅前には華やかなポスターや彫像が並び、
まさに“歌劇・宝塚の街”を実感できます。
Arriving at Hankyu Takarazuka Station, you are immediately surrounded by the aura of the Takarazuka Revue. Colorful posters and elegant statues greet visitors, giving a strong sense of being in the “city of Takarazuka.”
街を歩いていると、タカラジェンヌの男役の方に
出会いました。
実際に見かけたとき、そのスタイルの良さと
小さな頭に驚かされました。
「こんな人間が本当にいるんだ」と
感動するほどの存在感でした。
かっこいいですね～！
While walking through the city, I encountered a Takarazuka Revue star in the role of “otokoyaku” (male-role actress). Their elegant style and strikingly small head left me in awe—it felt almost unreal to see someone with such a commanding presence in everyday life.
手塚治虫記念館
Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum
宝塚といえば、もうひとつ欠かせないのが
「手塚治虫記念館」
宝塚市出身の漫画の神様・手塚治虫先生を
顕彰するスポットです。
外では『火の鳥』の像が来館者を迎えます。
Another highlight of Takarazuka is the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, dedicated to the “God of Manga” who was born here. The entrance is adorned with a statue of his legendary work, “Phoenix (Hi no Tori),” warmly welcoming visitors.
館内には『リボンの騎士』の
サファイア像や展示があり、
宝塚の街との結びつきも感じられます。
Inside, you’ll find displays such as a statue of Sapphire from “Princess Knight,” highlighting the deep ties between Tezuka’s works and the city of Takarazuka.
また、アーカイブ映像も必見。
大友克洋、里中真知子、藤子不二雄、浦沢直樹など、
名だたる漫画家たちが手塚治虫先生への敬意や
思い出を語る姿は非常に心に残りました。
創作の現場をともにした人々が口にする言葉からは、
手塚先生の影響力の大きさと
人柄の温かさが伝わってきます。
The archival videos are a must-see. Renowned manga artists share their memories and respect for Tezuka-sensei. Their heartfelt words reveal both his immense influence on the industry and his warmth as a person.
さらに、館内には手塚先生所縁の品々も展示されています。
愛用していた眼鏡やペン、インクなど、
日々の執筆活動を支えた道具を間近に見ると、
創作現場の空気を感じられました。
The museum also showcases Tezuka-sensei’s personal belongings—his eyeglasses, pens, and ink bottles. Seeing these everyday tools up close makes you feel connected to the very space where his timeless works were created.
周辺の「花乃みち」散策もおすすめ。
宝塚大劇場へ続くこの小径は緑に囲まれ、
街歩きの締めくくりにぴったりです。
Finally, don’t miss a stroll along “Hana no Michi” (Flower Road), a tree-lined path leading to the Takarazuka Grand Theater. It’s a peaceful way to end your walk through this unique city.
