Gunkanjima Cruise Experience (Part 1) - Cruise around Nagasaki Port
今回参加したのは、やまさ海運㈱が主催する軍艦島クルーズ。その他複数の会社がクルーズを開催していますが、今回のコースは軍艦島の上陸込みのツアーです。 I participated in a Gunkanjima cruise organized by Yamasa Kaiun Co., Ltd.. While there are various companies offering cruises to Gunkanjima, this particular tour includes a landing on the island itself.

出発と長崎港周辺 / Departure and Around Nagasaki Port
午前中の部、9時発の便を予約しました。出発は長崎港ターミナルからで、8時15分から受付開始、8時40分から乗船開始のスケジュールでした。 The tour departed at 9:00 AM, with check-in starting at 8:15 AM and boarding beginning at 8:40 AM. 支払いはクレジットカードが使用可能ですが、軍艦島上陸料の310円は現金払いとなります。 Payment can be made by credit card, except for the 310 yen landing fee, which must be paid in cash.

▲乗船券、軍艦島見学施設利用券、注意書きなどが配布されます。現地での波高が50cmを超えると上陸許可が出ないとのこと。上陸は運任せです。天気予報では現地の波高は70cmとのこと。微妙ですね。
見どころと観光スポット / Landmarks and Tourist Spots
長崎港を出航すると、まず見えるのは大きな金の玉。ターミナル裏にあるドラゴンプロムナードのオブジェです。ドラゴンがうねるデザインで、願いをかなえるドラゴンボールのようですね。 Upon departure, the large golden ball of the Dragon Promenade comes into view. The design resembles a dragon winding through the promenade, making it feel like a real-life Dragon Ball.

▲ 1998年に米国の建築家が龍踊りをモチーフにデザインし、完成しました。長く伸びた龍がオレンジ色の玉（直径約19メートル）を追い掛ける姿を表現しています

対岸には自衛隊のイージス艦がドック入りしているのが見えます。三菱重工のドックでは、巨大客船「ダイヤモンドプリンセス」の建造が行われました。 On the opposite shore, you can see the Aegis ships of the Japan Self-Defense Forces docked. The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries dock is where the giant cruise ship, "Diamond Princess," was built.

クルーズルート / Cruise Route
しばらく進むと、巨大な女神大橋を通過します。この橋は大型クルーズ船が通れるように設計され、日本一の桁下65メートルを誇ります。名古屋港の名港トリトンでも55メートル（練習帆船のマスト高を基準に設計されています）ですからね After a while, the massive Megami Ohashi Bridge, which has a clearance of 65 meters, comes into view. This bridge is designed to allow large cruise ships to pass under it.

その後、香焼造船所や、江戸時代に潜伏キリシタンが移住していた神ノ島が見えてきます。 Next, the Koyagi Shipyard and the historical Kiri Christian sites on Kami-no-shima are visible, providing a glimpse into Nagasaki's rich history.

また、伊王島も視界に入り、長崎の隠れキリシタンの歴史を感じることができます。伊王島は現在リゾート地としても知られています。 Finally, the island of Ioujima is visible. Once a site for supervising foreign ships during the Edo period, today it is a popular resort destination.

横島の紹介 / Introduction to Yokoshima
横島（よこしま）は、長崎県長崎市香焼町にある無人島で、香焼町安保の竹崎鼻の南西約0.6kmに位置しています。横島は、明治時代中期に炭鉱として開発されたものの、短期間で閉山し、昭和時代中期には島の沈下崩壊が進んで、現在はほとんどが水没しています。東側に長さ約160m、西側に長さ約50mの小さな岩礁2つが残っています。 横島は、炭鉱時代の産業遺産としても知られ、炭鉱の歴史やその背景を感じることができます。特に明治時代に開発された炭鉱が短命に終わり、その後の沈下により現在の小さな岩礁となってしまいました。 The island of Yokoshima, located about 0.6 km southwest of Takezaki Nose in the Abo area of Koyagi Town, Nagasaki City, is an uninhabited island. It was developed as a coal mining island in the mid-Meiji period, but the mine closed shortly thereafter. During the mid-Showa period, subsidence and collapse of the island began, and now only two small rock reefs, about 160 meters long on the east side and about 50 meters long on the west, remain. Yokoshima is also known as an industrial heritage site from the coal mining era. It offers visitors a chance to reflect on the history of the coal mine and its subsequent decline, eventually turning into the small rock reefs it is today.
